Title: Day Hospital
Date: 2009-02-12

This trip was canceled and substituted with a visit to the ER on Tuesday 2/10/09

Caitlyn had appeared to be retaining some fluid so rather than take a chance we called the doctor who instructed us to take her to the ER. There was a little confusion initially as the ER doctor had said she would under go an abdominal CAT scan. After some blood work and Caitlyn’s doctor coming in to see her the plan changed to postpone the CAT scan for a few weeks to allow the Sorafenib more time to produce some results.

The extra fluid was resolved by increasing her Lasix to twice a day, the same with her other water pill. This was an up and down emotional evening for Caitlyn as she would have had to stay in the hospital for the CAT scan.

Ammonia level holding steady at around 100, one difference in blood work is that her liver enzymes are elevated now. That could be both good or bad, no determination was made either way and the forth coming CAT scan will tell the tale.
